  11 The freenode #live team are excited to announce more confirmed speakers
  12 for the [freenode #live conference](https://freenode.live/conference/fn-live17)
  13 taking place at the At-Bristol Science Centre in Bristol, UK on 28-29th October
  14 this year, with plenty more still to be announced.

  16 Of the variety of speakers, talks and workshops we've had submitted, we're
  17 pleased to announce the following confirmed lineup:

  21 - Deb Nicholson (Community Outreach Director for the Open Invention Network,
  22   winner of several awards including the O'Reilly Open Source Award)
  23 - Karen Sandler (Executive Director of the Software Freedom Conservancy, former
  24   executive director of the GNOME Foundation)
  25 - Matthew Garrett (technologist, programmer, and free software activist - a
  26   major contributor to various projects including Linux, GNOME, Debian, Ubuntu
  27   and Red Hat.  He is a recipient of the Free Software Award from the Free
  28   Software Foundation for his work on Secure Boot, UEFI, and the Linux kernel.

  34 - Kaspar Emanuel (freelance electronic design engineer and software
  35   developer working on projects ranging from musical instruments to robots to

  37 - Nathan Handler (freenode staff member, Ubuntu and Debian GNU/Linux
  38   Developer, Site Reliability Engineer at Yelp)
  39 - Errietta Kostala (Perl developer at FairFX London, keen open source
  40   contributor including Mozilla)
  41 - Maxigas (postdoctoral researcher at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a
  42   fellow at Central European University)
  43 - Michael Walker (working on a Ph.D, open source contributor, started Arch Hurd
  44   distribution, author of Déjà Fu Haskell concurrent testing library)
