   1 ircd-seven has been developed to meet the policy needs of the
   2 freenode IRC network. The ircd is based closely on Charybdis
   3 (http://www.atheme.org/project/charybdis) which in turn is an
   4 evolution from ircd-ratbox. Charybdis has a dedicated, large
   5 and active development team with whom we have worked closely
   6 throughout the development of ircd-seven.
