  39 Services is licensed under the GPL, so anyone who wants to pick up the
  40 source code can do so even without contacting me--as many people have
  41 done in the past (Magick, Epona/Anope, etc).  However, while I'll listen
  42 if someone does ask me, at this point in time I have no plans to
  43 explicitly pass Services on to anyone else.

  45 To be honest, it's my feeling that someone who did want to continue
  46 Services would be much better served by starting from the design
  47 documentation in the technical manual and rewriting the code from
  48 scratch.  The current code base is already close to 14 years old, and
  49 it's definitely showing its age. (Some of you may recall the flurry of
  50 bugs that popped up shortly after the release of 5.1.0; the aging code
  51 base was definitely a factor in the appearance of those bugs.)
